Artistic Director
Nova Johnstone
Nova Johnstone, hailing from Pictou County, was the recipient of the National Scholarship to The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and The National Ballet School of Canada. She continued on to a professional career in Ireland and the UK dancing with Cork City Ballet and Grammy Award winning Anuna and Hozier. She is now the Artistic Director of The School of Port City Ballet. Nova was also the recipient of The deCoste Centre Arts Bursary in 2002.

Kealan McLaughlin
Kealan McLaughlin is a Canadian Principal Dancer having performed with The Estonian National Opera and Ballet, L’Opera Atelier, Ballet Jorgen and Alberta Ballet. He is a frequent guest coach and mentor to the students at The School of Port City Ballet and teaches and performs nationwide.

Chloe Dockendorff
Chloe grew up in Prince Edward Island, Canada, training at Island Dance Academy and the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts. She received further training at the National Ballet School of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Victoria Academy of Ballet, and Orlando Ballet, before attending the Alberta Ballet’s Post-Graduate Program. Chloe joined the Virginia National Ballet company in 2022, with her favourite roles there including Summer Fairy in Cinderella and Flowers Soloist in The Nutcracker. Chloe is an artist with Fort Wayne Ballet.

Elsa Allred
From Halifax, Nova Scotia, Elsa is the Artistic Director of the Musical Theatre program at Scotia Suzuki School. Elsa has a Professional Dance Diploma from the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts. Elsa has training at schools such as The National Ballet of Canada, Boston Ballet School and Ballet West. Elsa’s passion and experience in the arts is not limited to performing but also sharing her expertise with young artists.

Treasurer & Director
Gregory Davis
Greg Davis brings extensive leadership and organizational expertise to his role as Secretary and Director of the ballet company. Based in Halifax, he has a degree in business administration, he has built a professional career in information technology service management and governance, developing strong skills in strategic planning, process oversight, and operational excellence. Greg’s commitment to supporting the arts is also a personal one, as his family is deeply involved in the ballet. This unique connection allows him to combine his technical and administrative strengths with a genuine dedication to advancing ballet in Nova Scotia. At the ballet company, Greg ensures sound governance, effective communication, and a strong foundation for the organization’s growth and long-term success.

Secretary
Lesley Johnstone
Lesley Johnstone comes with a wealth of knowledge in business administration and accounting. She ran a family business dealing with multiple multi-million dollar contracts and organizing payroll for employees. She's held several management positions making her a wonderful addition to the Operational team and Board of The Port City Ballet Company. Lesley is always there to assist in any capacity required.
